Ateneo Wifi AP List
While browsing for a good WiFi AP at the Ateneo grounds, my Wireless Connection Manager was able to spot the following access points in the Ateneo de Davao University Jacinto Campus grounds.
Most of these access points (or wifi hotspots) are free and open. Though the university president announced that these hotspots are only available on specified hours of the day, we noticed that they don’t follow these schedules. The hotspots are even available during weekends. That gives me a reason to stay in school on Saturdays and Sundays. *wink*

We were having classes when I discovered this network. I never thought that someone from the faculty placed a wireless router in their office. Though this WiFi network was not publicized, there has been rumors before that the Engineering Division of AdDU will be putting a wireless network within the ECE Laboratories. Engineering students may now compete with those WiFi hungry CS students.

51 Coffee Shop
Location : Victoria Plaza Compound, J.P. Laurel Avenue, Davao City

51 is a coffee shop and a Japanese Restaurant at the same time situated at the edge of the Victoria Plaza compound (right beside the Buffet Palace). Being a coffee shop, this establishment offers a FREE WiFi Service for its clients and guests. It also have a wide selection of authentic Japanese dishes.

Brew Crew’s Coffee House

If you are a college student studying at Ateneo de Davao University, you might want to consider having a coffee break at Brew Crew’s Coffee House. It’s one of the coffee shops located near the perimeters of the university.
I was able to try the place once when we had a meeting. The coffee was good. I tried their mocha frappe and it was great. The wifi network is open. So if you happened to pass by the place, you might consider dropping by and make use of their Free internet using your PDA or WiFi phone. If you are planning to study and you have your laptop with you, they only charge 20.00 pesos for laptop charging. It’s cheaper as compared to what other establishments charge for the use of their power outlet.
The front porch might need a little facelift. It’s so spacious, yet, it does not attract too much attention.
