Review: McDonald’s Bajada

These past few months (since the time my laptop came into being in my life), I occasionally visit the Bajada Branch of McDonald’s. Aside from the food I buy, I usually stay for a brief time to enjoy their FREE WiFi service.

Last May 10, I mentioned on the McDonald’s HotSpot Review that a friend from the management told me that the head office mandates them to incur some fees for the WiFi service. I didn’t believe that yet since I was still able to use the FREE WiFi Service a week ago.
Just this afternoon, while enjoying my Chicken McDo lunch, I conveniently opened my laptop on the side table hoping that I could again make use of their free WiFi service. argh. GlobeWIZ logo covered my homepage. The WiFi service is now exclusive for GlobeQuest users and those who would buy that very expensive internet card from McDo.

Let us admit, the FREE WiFi service had some advantage on the part of McDonald’s. The restaurant is located in front of Davao’s Business park where a lot of yappies (with lappies) are housed. Most of them take their break at McDonald’s while enjoying the convenience of free internet over a McDonald’s meal.

I guess my frequency of visit to McDo Bajada would not be as frequent as before. At least I can still enjoy food and free wifi in school.

well put rodrigo *joke* hehehe i have no idea what you just said. yeah Ive been there a lot before the commercialization of the wifi, the bugers are good, the fries are great, too much salt though… but no one is interested in the food right? well if you plan on buying gobequest cards(?) for the sole purpose of accessing internet on thier strategically placed hotzone, you’d be better off using an internet cafe workstation (like what im doing right now) its much more… ‘comfortable’. mcdonals is no exception, thier tables are too small for most laptops… now that thier internet connection is no longer free, its just another fast food… at least theyre still serving good french fries… ps: i hope jollibee will have free wifi… ^_^
